The Raj Bhavan at Agartala is the official residence-cum-office of the Governor of Tripura. It is located in the capital city of Agartala. Built in 1917, it is known as Pushpavant Palace. It was built by Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya Bahadur at Kunjaban which stands at a distance of 1.00 KM North of Ujjayanta Palace. The Raj Bhavan covers a total area of 1.76 hectares. Rabindranath Tagore visited Agartala no less than seven times and during his stay at Pushpabant Palace­­­­­­­ Tagore composed five songs on the spring season.

The Raj Bhavan Complex

The Raj Bhavan complex comprises the main building, the Secretariat Block, the office of the Police Officer, a reception counter, a medical unit, Durbar Hall,  garage & godown. The main building is fronted by a lawn and has a kitchen garden at the back. The gardens have a variety of species of plants, such as coconut, mango, jackfruit, lychee etc.

The office chamber and residential block of the Hon’ble Governor, guest suites, office of the Aides-de-Camp, Principal Private Security Officer, Comptroller of Household, Guest Rooms, Library, the Banquet Hall and a mini conference hall are located in the main building. Several objects comprising photographs, painting adorn the Raj Bhavan.
